Position: Production Operations I (Direct)-Contingent Worker
Location: McPherson, KS 67460
Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday
Job Description:
  • You will be responsible for the general assembly of components in accordance with product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality procedures.
  • You will be cross trained in a variety of tasks, including completing assembly checklists, testing parts, and monitoring stock bins.
  • Your training will also include the use of a variety of hand and pneumatic tools.
  • You will report directly to the Production Supervisor, as well as the Plant Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
  • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
  • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Typical day look like
  • Assembles components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Accurately completes assembly checklists.
  • Monitors stock bins in work area and reports stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
  • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
  • Adheres to the client Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical demands of the job
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Employee is regularly required to:
  • Read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Stand and/or walk for 10 hours a day, with minimal breaks.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
  • Employee is always required to wear steel toed shoes and safety glasses.
  • Employee is required to wear hearing protection in designated areas.
  • The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management.
Work Environment:

  • The employee will normally work on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.
