is seeking candidates for a Production Spare Hand position in our Potsdam area.

Production Spare Hand will be responsible for performing multiple and varied tasks in the production environment. The candidate will be trained in various positions. Typically includes Third Helper, Fourth Hand, and Roll Finisher.

Pay Rate $21.00
Overtime Pay Rate $31.50

Full-time with rotating shifts to include mid-nights, days, evenings, and weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

Retrieve stock and supplies from the warehouse

Operate fork truck and clamp truck

Prepare broke for Paper Machines and store unused broke

Prepare and weigh pulp on a scale

Prepare and load pulp and load broke into slushers

Properly dispose of waste

Maintaining an operating fork truck, pulp scales, monitor contaminants

Determine pulp and filler supply needs

Maintain forklift inspection reports

Prepare rolls for shipping; inspect, and splice as needed

Operator roll shuttle, core cutter, slab bailer, winder, and information control computer

Thread machine and winder

Remove rolls from the roll table and roll cart

Tie up slab bales and cut cores

Perform shift housekeeping tasks

Prepare equipment for use

Assist machine operators during changes and machine downtime as directed

Removal and installation of wires, press felts, dryer felts, conveyor felts

Cleaning of tanks and chests

Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding paper holds

Perform required tasks for sheet breaks

Effectively wrap and label rolls from the machine, and prepare for shipment by assuring they are wrapped and labeled correctly for the system

Other tasks as specified by supervisor or operator.
