Production Maintenance Shift Engineer Hatfield (On-site) £46,000 + £3,600 on-call allowanceWe’re looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our established maintenance team at our Hatfield Head Office. This is a key role within the MHE (Material Handling Equipment) department, focused on keeping critical systems operating safely, reliably, and to the highest standards.This is a fully on-site role, working five days a week on a rotating shift pattern.Shift Pattern06:00 – 14:0014:00 – 22:00The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and reliability of automated material handling systems in a fast-paced operational environment. Key responsibilities include:Electrical maintenance of material handling equipmentFault finding and testing on PLC and three-phase systemsResponding to breakdowns and completing planned maintenance activitiesProviding emergency response for critical equipment failuresMaintaining machinery in line with agreed safety and performance standardsIdentifying, reporting, and rectifying defects promptlySupporting facilities and site activities when requiredCompleting timesheets, maintenance documentation, and stock controlOrdering consumables and managing associated administrationWhat We’re Looking ForQualified, time-served technician with a strong electrical backgroundProven fault-finding experience in a production or operational environmentPLC experience (advantageous but not essential)Experience maintaining automated material handling equipment or similar systemsSelf-motivated, flexible, and a strong team playerClear and effective communication skillsComfortable working at heightsStrong practical understanding of health & safety requirementsHealth & Safety training or certification, including high-bay racking access and controlled descent rescue proceduresQualificationsCity & Guilds or BTEC in Electrical EngineeringBasic mechanical skillsWorking knowledge of automated material handling equipmentBenefitsShare Save option schemePrivate healthcareGym membershipSubsidised meals in the staff canteenPension schemeShopping discountsOvertime opportunities paid at:Time and a halfDouble timeTriple time (where applicable)
