We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor - Must have experience in pork processing!!!

One of my best clients in food production is confidentially seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor. Located in Northern Ohio, they are a family-owned company that has been in business for more than 60 years and committed to providing the highest quality products.

Essential Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees on the Production Floor.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assign employees to a position after being hired, along with training, planning, and directing. Appraising performance along with disciplinary actions and addressing complaints and or assisting with providing appropriate resolutions.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily walks and visual inspections of the Production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains safety/environmental self-audits & visual checks, champions all safety or ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goals.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly
  • Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with HACCP and USDA regulations.
  • Works with the Superintendents/Supervisors and or Vice President to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, typical problem areas, and methods for corrections and improvement.
  • Suggests changes in workflow processes and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the department and/or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • In lieu of a High School Diploma or GED, candidate must have 3 years of manufacturing industry experience in a production environment and a minimum of 2 years related experience leading or supervising others.
