Production Supervisor Apply
Position Overview The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts in a wire and cable manufacturing facility. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. 3rd Shift Supervisor Department: Production Location: Hayesville, NC Reports To: Plant Manager Key Responsibilities Production Management Supervise and coordinate shift operations including drawing, stranding, extrusion, armoring, and cabling processes. Ensure production schedules are executed to meet output, quality, and delivery targets. Monitor machine performance, output rates, and downtime. Ensure proper material availability and workflow coordination. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and motivate operators, technicians, and support staff. Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily production goals. Monitor employee attendance, performance, and discipline. Identify training needs and support skill development. Safety & Compliance Enforce safety standards, PPE requirements, and housekeeping practices. Conduct regular safety checks and report hazards. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality procedures. Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions. Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with Quality Control for in-process inspections and testing. Address and resolve production quality issues promptly. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination Monitor equipment condition and report mechanical or electrical issues. Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Ensure proper changeovers and machine setup procedures. Reporting & Documentation Prepare and submit shift production reports. Track KPIs such as output, scrap rates, downtime, safety, and efficiency. Maintain accurate production logs and inventory records. Qualifications & Experience 3–5+ years of experience in wire and cable manufacturing Experience in extrusion, conductor drawing, stranding, or cable assembly processes Strong leadership and team management skills Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems Problem-solving and decision-making ability Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Ability to work rotating shifts Good communication and reporting skills Preferred Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering 1–2 years in a supervisory role preferred Knowledge of wire drawing, extrusion, and cable manufacturing processes Working Conditions Manufacturing floor environment (heat, noise, moving machinery) Standing/walking for extended periods Shift-based work (day/night) Some overtime required #J-18808-Ljbffr
