Job Description

Production Shift Supervisor – Manufacturing

A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to lead a designated shift, overseeing employees engaged in production, packaging, and quality operations. This is a hands-on leadership role critical to maintaining efficient operations, meeting production targets, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This position works a 12-hour shift on a 2-2-3-3 schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shift operations, including production schedules, equipment status, and material availability
  • Assign tasks and coordinate workflow for production team members
  • Oversee maintenance and quality control activities on second and third shifts
  • Train new employees on equipment, processes, and safety standards
  • Monitor production metrics and statistical process control to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate production records in SAP and track employee time and attendance
  • Enforce plant health, safety, and housekeeping standards
  • Maintain clear communication with employees, management, and external partners
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in operational meetings


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Management or Engineering preferred
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, including supervising teams
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and use of calipers, gauges, and precision tools
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with SAP preferred
  • Forklift or mobile equipment license preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
