Masis Professional Group is recruiting for a Production Supervisor (2nd or 3rd Shift) on behalf of our client. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
The Production Supervisor will oversee daily production line operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met. This role is responsible for supervising line workers, coordinating job assignments, training staff, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Basic qualifications and/or traits that the Production Supervisor must possess include:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team development abilities.
- Goal-oriented, confident, and able to perform under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel functions.
- Safety-conscious mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing change effectively.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
- Supervise and coordinate production line operations to meet daily production goals.
- Assign work and ensure proper placement of line workers based on daily needs.
- Train, coach, and support line workers to meet performance and safety expectations.
- Conduct pre-shift and ongoing safety inspections of production areas.
- Monitor employee compliance with safety regulations, PPE requirements, and GMP standards.
- Ensure all employees complete and submit daily safety report cards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free production environment.
- Verify work orders and ensure required materials and components are available.
- Monitor and update hourly production metrics.
- Perform line changeovers, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure completion of required documentation, including skid tickets, line checks, and quality checks.
- Coordinate with material handlers to maintain proper flow of production materials.
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure adherence to product specifications.
- Escalate production or personnel issues to the Production Manager as needed.
- Recommend disciplinary action for violations of company policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintenance-related tasks and support production operations as needed.
- Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work in varying conditions, including wet, humid, cold, and warm environments.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
- 80% production floor and 20% office-based work environment.
