Purpose / Scope This position is a hands‑on supervisor role to lead daily operations in a growing precast concrete manufacturing facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for delivering measurable results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employee Engagement (SQDCE) while leading crews in wet cast and/or prestress production. The role builds a high‑performance team that produces safe, high‑quality precast products on time and at cost. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage daily production execution for precast operations Conduct daily startup meetings to review SQDC performance, establish short and long‑term performance goals, review initiative status, present company issues, and build a winning team spirit Establish a lean vision for processes, set SQDC improvement goals, and take the proper action to achieve these goals Post and monitor SQDC measurements to provide visual trends of progress against goals and objectives, and to identify and seek opportunities for improvement Eliminate problems by taking immediate stop‑gap measures, employing required support groups, recording critical data, and driving root‑cause elimination Provide continuous feedback to members regarding their personal performance and reward or discipline accordingly Increase the team’s skill depth through cross‑training matrices, development goal setting, and task rotation Manage team members, including recruitment, orientation, training and development, performance management processes, disciplinary actions, and maintaining proper staffing levels Address issues quickly and escalate when needed Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience Two years of demonstrated experience leading a team to achieve objectives in a manufacturing or similar environment Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to work on the production floor in a physically demanding setting Results‑driven with a sense of ownership and urgency Ability to interact and communicate (both written and verbal) effectively with all levels within the organization as well as customers and suppliers Preferred Qualifications Three to five years of precast or concrete manufacturing experience (wet cast or prestress) Knowledge of reinforcing steel, forming systems, and concrete finishing One to three years of experience in a union environment Lean / continuous improvement background Physical Requirements Ability to spend long durations standing/walking in a manufacturing environment with steep ladders and catwalks Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50 lbs, spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection Office: Move 25 lbs, work with a computer for extended periods of time Work Environments 50% of time in a loud, dusty manufacturing environment with wide variations in ambient conditions; remainder in an office environment Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year‑round, Mid‑West and Northeast), dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways This position has an anticipated salary range of $75,000 – $95,000 annually.
