Job Summary
Performs, trains, and demonstrates all functions of the Assembly/Production area. Assists in the managing of output of finished goods for the department. Performs essential duties and responsibilities of the Assembler and/or Panel Assembler & Wirer position as directed. Maintains schedules relating to the assembly and production of products. Responsible and has authority for scheduling and monitoring the flow of product through the assembly area maintaining all quality requirements. Responsible and has authority for design validation. Enforces all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Travel
This position may require some travel involving overnight stays, and weekend assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Reviews daily workload distribution and prioritizes and distributes job assignments to Production leaders.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Develop and implement processes to produce and maintain accurate and aggressive production schedules, high quality standards and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the creation of the structure and processes necessary to manage the short and long-range manufacturing processes.
- Prepares production reports.
- Identifies acquisition and maintenance of production tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Assists the QC Department with work priorities.
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
- Understands work orders and follows production drawings and sample assemblies.
- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions.
- Ensure job folders are complete with accurate drawings.
- Reviews and implements the design, purchase and installation of test equipment required to test finished assemblies.
- Ensures equipment is calibrated and aids in the process.
- Reviews processes and jobs to determine best practice.
- Monitors jobs in process in production and quality of work being performed.
- Checks finished items before sending to final QC
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
