Position Summary:

Caturus Energy and Commonwealth LNG are combined within the Caturus platform founded by Kimmeridge – an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector – to support the overarching goal of providing low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.


Kimmeridge’s vision in creating Caturus is to build the only independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations under Caturus Energy, formerly Kimmeridge Texas Gas, and via Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 million tonnes per annum liquefied natural gas export terminal in southwestern Louisiana on the U.S. Gulf Coast. The combined entities are committed to delivering responsibly sourced, low-emission fuel to domestic and international markets.


Caturus Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day production operations across upstream oil and gas assets in South Texas. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing production, supervising and training Lease Operators, minimizing downtime and operating costs, and ensuring accurate production, operational and financial data entry. The Production Supervisor is accountable for safe operations and compliance with all applicable company safety standards, environmental policies, and regulatory requirements.


This position works closely and collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, Automation, and corporate teams to optimize assets within their area of responsibility, improve reliability, and promote a strong safety-first culture. The Production Supervisor will also develop, coach, and mentor Lease Operators, building a skilled, accountable, and professional field team.


Key Accountabilities:

Lead with Safety

  • Make safety the foundation of all operational decisions and field activities.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify hazards in the field, report them promptly, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Empower direct reports, contractors, and service providers to exercise stop work authority.
  • Conduct routine field safety checks and follow up on observations.

Take Ownership of Assigned Assets

  • Treat each well, tank battery, and facility in your area as your own.
  • Ensure assigned sites are clean, organized, and compliant with operational and safety standards.
  • Verify that personnel, contractors, and service providers perform work safely and as directed.

Operational Oversight and Direction

  • Supervise and support Lease Operators and contract personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Ensure all field operations comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Take initiative to solve operational issues and prevent problems from escalating.
  • Prioritize tasks, coordinate personnel and act decisively within company procedures and guidelines.

Drive Production Performance, Cost Efficiency, and Minimize Downtime

  • Monitor production, equipment, and flow conditions via SCADA, dashboards and field checks.
  • Respond promptly to production interruptions, safety concerns, and downtime events.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent deferred production, equipment failures, or safety/environmental risks.
  • Make operational decisions that prioritize safety and balance production, and cost efficiency.

Ensure Accurate and Timely Data Integrity

  • Ensure production, downtime, and operational data is entered accurately and on schedule.
  • Review reports and work orders for accuracy, and completeness, and
  • Review invoices promptly and confirm charges are consistent with agreed-upon scopes and pricing and verify accurate cost coding.
  • Reinforce accountability and attention to detail among field personnel in all data entry and reporting.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly, proactively, and respectfully with personnel, supervisors, service providers, external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Share field observations, raise concerns early, and provide relevant operational updates.
  • Ensure clear communication during handovers, work planning, and troubleshooting.

Develop and Support the Field Team

  • Train, coach, and mentor Lease Operators to strengthen technical skills and operational knowledge.
  • Encourage accountability, pride of ownership, and professional behavior among direct reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback, recognize strong performance, and address deficiencies promptly.
  • Always Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive image of the Caturus Production Team.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production, operational efficiency, and reliability.
  • Encourage direct reports to suggest ideas for operational improvement.
  • Participate in post-event reviews and contribute to lessons learned and process enhancements.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by seeking guidance when needed and pursuing ongoing professional development.
  • Practice humility and remain open to alternative approaches, feedback, and guidance.


Qualifications:

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • 15+ years in Upstream oil and gas production operations required
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience supervising field personnel, including Lease Operators or similar roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of upstream oil ang gas operations, production equipment, facilities, and field processes.
  • Experience with compression, plunger lift and gas lift a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and lead by example.
  • Solid understanding of upstream oil and gas safety practices, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience reviewing and approving invoices with attention to cost control and accurate coding.
  • Open Invoice and Open Ticket experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with on-call or after-hours responsibilities as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
