Production Surface Prep | 1st ShiftArcosa Marine is searching for a Safety Oriented Product Surface Prep (Barge Cleaner) in our Ashland City, TN barge plant. As a Barge Cleaner, you will work on preparing barges for paint by grinding welds, surface scrubbing, pressure washing and debris clean-up.Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa's Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.What you will do:Perform general, manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materialsOperate automated blast system or hand blast systemOperate automated equipment or hand tools to clean or prepare interior and exterior product surfacesRemove debris, materials and dirtBarge paint preparationsFollow all safety rules and practicesPerform other duties as assignedWhat you will need:6 months to 1 year of related experience in a construction, industrial or manufacturing plant environment is preferredMust be able to work in small, confined spacesMust be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objectsPhysical strength and dexterityAble to work effectively in a hot or cold environment while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)The ability to maintain good attendanceEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
