This is a fast-paced position which offers long-term, consistent employment with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to Health, Vision, Dental, Life and 401K.Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate depending on the shiftShift / Hours: 3rd Shift; Monday - Friday @8:45pm to 5:15am, possible weekend work (If needed)Summary of Functions:As a Production Technician 1, you will be responsible for the efficient handling and sorting of fruit to ensure quality and proper grading. Your primary tasks will include:Unloading Fruit: Use a shovel to unload fruit from trucks onto a conveyor belt or fruit table.Grading and Sorting: Grade, sort, and classify fruit based on size, weight, color, and overall condition.Quality Control: Ensure that all fruit meets company standards and specifications before it proceeds to the next stage of processing or distribution.Maintenance: Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of work areas and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Unload fruit onto conveyor belt or fruit table for grading.As needed grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing.Seal and fill empty juice drums as needed.Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.Works in accordance with all company policies and procedures.Follows health and safety guidelines. Maintain and keep work area according to cGMP.Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.Organizational Relationships:Position reports to Shift Assistant ManagerQualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
