THE POSITION

Do you enjoy investigating cases and enforcing standards of laws, rules, and regulations? The Department of Education is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Professional Conduct Investigator 2. This position gives you the opportunity to utilize your years of experience and job knowledge to investigate allegations that educators or administrators have violated the standards of conduct for certificated professional educators. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Professional Conduct Investigator 2, it is your responsibility to plan, organize, and coordinate investigations that are of a sensitive and complex nature. Effective communication is key as you will be conferring with supervisors and attorneys assigned to each case. Upon receipt of a case file, you will review all information, identify the allegations, prepare an investigative plan, and request additional information as necessary. You will need to conduct thorough interviews with all witnesses to gain the desired information to substantiate your case which will require travel throughout the Commonwealth. After the interviews have been completed, you will compile all information into status reports and discuss the outcome with the assigned attorneys. You will have the opportunity to represent the department at the disciplinary hearings and coordinate with law enforcement agencies when needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years as a Professional Conduct Investigator 1; or
  • Seven years of investigative experience; or
  • Three years of investigative experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that included three years of investigative experience.

Other Requirements:
