Job Title : Program Coordinator Responsible to : Grundy County Extension Council Primary Responsibility : Facilitate County extension adult programming, enhance county extension partnerships, address client requests for technical assistance, and provide leadership for county extension staff and county office operations.  Implements a county plan of work that focuses on stakeholder education and engagement. Serves as the council representative and face of Extension in the community on behalf of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Primary Duties : Plans, markets, and executes educational programs to meet the needs of county residents in cooperation with Regional Director and Program Specialists Maintains and enhances county Extension partnerships and develops partnerships with key stakeholder groups, building community collaborations and serving as the face of ISU Extension & Outreach locally Addresses client requests for technical assistance Works with multiple media sources to promote extension programming, maintaining a high level of marketing and visibility for all programs Provides support to county priority programs as needed (for example, county fair, ag safety day, omelet breakfast) Serves as an advocate for the county extension council’s interests in the county Secures resources to support county extension programming including grant writing Cooperates with regional extension programming efforts in support of Regional Director and State Program Specialists Attends training and in-service opportunities as necessary or beneficial for work Reports to council at scheduled meetings on county extension programs, partnership activities, response to clients, county paid staffing, and office operations Supports and initiates strategies to develop volunteer networks. Maintains a positive working relationship with staff and clients in the county. Effectively communicates with clientele of all ages and backgrounds. Provides research-based resources and information to clients. Provides direct instruction if possesses high level of education and experience. Evaluates and reports outcomes and impacts to councils, stakeholders, and ISU Extension and Outreach. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications/Skills : Bachelor’s Degree (May be waived based on work related experience) Working knowledge of Email, Excel, MS Word, & Internet Explorer Ability to work with people in a positive, friendly, courteous, and tactful manner Ability to work in a team atmosphere Dependable, organized, & detail oriented Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes frequent evening work and some weekends Ability to travel and access dependable transportation with proof of vehicle liability coverage Ability to lift 50 pounds and use a ladder as needed Ability to pass a background check including DCI, sex offender registry and motor vehicle record Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Three year’s work experience Work experience in extension, outreach, public service or project management Experience working with governing boards, councils, and community groups Hours: 32 hours per week (80% FTE).
