Job Description Harborview Otolaryngology Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator/Scheduler. WORK SCHEDULE Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Day Shift Mondays- Fridays POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Only Level I trauma and burn center in the region Close proximity to public transportation Harborview ranks among the nation’s top hospitals in rehabilitation care, neurology, neurosurgery and orthopedics PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen Coordinate anesthesia Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician Enter appointment information in online appointment system Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medical staff, and Admitting Other assigned duties REQUIREMENTS High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
