Calpine Corporation is America's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operations in competitive power markets. Job Summary This position is responsible for the implementation of major programs to include: predictive maintenance program, water treatment program, transformer reliability program, incident investigation program, training program, and other similar major programs. Manage day-to-day operations of the test and maintenance fleet services contractor(s). Interpret test results and provide recommendations to Calpine Management and Calpine Engineering regarding critical items being monitored. Coordinate scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs. Negotiate contracts and contractual changes, and coordinate the preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts. Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules. Develop solutions to program problems and ensure programs are consistently delivered and maintained. Provide technical guidance to other departments within Calpine. Provide technical leadership to both internal and external organizations and entities. Qualifications Comprehensive knowledge. Seasoned professional with advanced applied experience. Advanced skills contributing to knowledge areas within the function. Ability to make recommendations on moderately complex issues regarding project components and tasks. Potential to recommend new processes, tools and services. Support and contribute to the development of new products, services or techniques. Experience working on problems of diverse scope ranging from moderate to complex. Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors. Collaborates with senior professionals in selecting methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Serves as project/technical lead on small to medium sized projects and may coordinate work of professionals, technicians and others outside own department. Works within specific guidelines and procedures and often required to interpret application of policies/procedures/technical methods for others. Often required to apply ingenuity and originality. Resource integrator—builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to achieve goals.
