VCU Health Ambulatory Surgery Team VCU Health is a premier academic medical center in Central Virginia anchored by the VCU Medical Center. It features the region's only Level I Trauma Center (adult, pediatric, and burn) and includes Virginia's first NCI-designated cancer center (VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center). Come be a part of our Ambulatory Surgery team at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) located in downtown Richmond! The ACC sees a variety of cases, including Ortho (arthroscopies and hand, foot, and ankle), GYN, Urology, ENT, OMFS, Dental, Ophthalmology (cataracts and vitrectomies), Ocular Plastics, minor Vascular, minor Neurology, Pain Management, Plastics (including liposuction), General, and Surgical Oncology. Schedule requirements: Monday thru Friday schedule with no nights, weekends or holidays! The Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative/clerical support functions for the Department. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications & e-mail/calendaring Experience PREFERRED: Three (3) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting Previous experience in a health care setting Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Education/training PREFERRED: Post High School coursework in Business, Accounting or closely related field Independent action(s) required: Performs administrative/clerical duties independently and without direct supervision. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: N/A Age Specific groups served: N/A Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical - Lifting less than 20 lbs.
