Job Description :
- Provide nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on medical/surgical units not requiring ICU transfer.
- Care for diverse patient populations, including post-op surgical, cardiac, vascular, respiratory, renal, and medical patients requiring intensive monitoring.
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, and ventilatory support (CPAP/BiPAP/O2).
- Monitor patients with multiple IVs; manage and administer IV medications (e.g., Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Amiodarone, Dopamine - not titrated).
- Perform skilled assessments, recognize changes in patient conditions, and intervene appropriately.
- Interpret basic cardiac telemetry and EKGs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
- Assist with precepting and mentoring new staff; act as a clinical leader in the unit.
- Delegate tasks and give directions to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Housekeeping, and Dietary staff.
- Adhere to established nursing policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Float to Medical Surgical Nursing Unit as needed for staffing support.
- Maintain professional standards of nursing and effective communication with patients and families.
- Certifications required: Current Montana or CompaRN license, BLS, ACLS (required or within 6 months), PALS preferred.
- Additional preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC.
- Pediatric and post-cardiac catheterization experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required.
