We are looking for a dedicated Project Accountant to join our team in Kingston, Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in bridging operations and accounting, while collaborating with external stakeholders. As this is a long-term contract position, you will have the chance to contribute significantly to the success of our organization, with potential for growth based on your performance.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage customer invoices, including time-and-material invoices and other standard billing formats.

• Record accounts receivable transactions and reconcile monthly invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Set up new customers, projects, cost codes, and prime contracts within the accounting system, collaborating with project management teams to maintain consistency.

• Assist in aligning project management systems with accounting applications to ensure accurate information related to contracts and budgets.

• Lead the development and training of new procedures tied to updated accounting systems.

• Calculate monthly job costs, including insurance, mercantile taxes, bonds, and additional identified expenses.

• Provide notary services for invoicing processes and other business-related needs.

• Generate and distribute weekly unit cost reports for project management teams.

• Regularly review project-specific performance and financial metrics to identify issues, collaborating with the Controller and project management teams to resolve concerns.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve challenges effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer service.
• Capability to work collaboratively within a diverse, cross-functional team.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving results.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe/FoxIt; experience with Procore and Sage is a plus.
• Background in construction accounting or public accounting preferred.
