Overview At Corvant, we provide specialty HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical services to mission‑critical commercial and industrial environments. Our teams support essential facilities across data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and education. Project Accountant Plays a critical role in supporting the financial success of projects by partnering with Operations, Project Management, and Finance teams. This position is responsible for monitoring project financial performance, ensuring accurate cost tracking, and supporting key operational accounting processes throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Manage project financials, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, and variance analysis. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs). Support the change order process, including documentation, cost analysis, and system updates. Perform project cost transfers and adjustments to ensure accurate job costing. Assist with procurement activities, including material sourcing, and vendor coordination. Utilize document management tools (e.g., DocuSign) to route, track, and store critical project documentation. Prepare and maintain project cost reports for Project Managers and leadership. Manage project billing, including preparation and submission of AIA billing documents. Track, prepare, and submit Accounts Payable (AP) payment requests, ensuring proper approvals and timely processing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Support month‑end close activities related to project accounting. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Accounting Manager or Vice President of Accounting & Finance. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis). Solid understanding of job costing and project‑based accounting principles. Knowledge and experience with AIA billing processes and documentation. Familiarity with OCIP (Owner‑Controlled Insurance Program) and CCIP (Contractor‑Controlled Insurance Program) requirements and compliance. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint or similar platforms). Familiarity with construction or mechanical contracting industry practices is preferred. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I‑9 upon hire. Employment subject to E‑Verify confirmation. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to communicate effectively in English in an office environment.
