This role offers a minimum $60k base salary with a significant range above depending on experience (additional compensation details below)

Our client is a General Contractor based in the Greater Phoenix area and they are looking for a Construction Project Accountant with a varied and broad skilled set to join our new and fast-growing company. The ideal candidate is based in the greater Phoenix area and can outline prior experience working with General Contractors will get great consideration. The position is an in-office role.

The ideal Construction Project Accountant is a well-organized, detail-orientated individual, that works well in a team environment. This role will report directly to the accounting department head in performing accounts payable functions, data entry, check disbursement, lien release and other accounting functions. The duties of this role require an understanding of job cost accounting to oversee and facilitate the accounting progress of projects.

Construction Project Accountant Job Duties:
  • Juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Verifying and coding invoices; reviews approvals and amounts to be paid.
  • Oversee accounts receivable processes including but not limited to customer setup, AIA billings, retention, and collection.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes including but not limited to vendor setups, reconcile vendor statements, payment approval and check runs.
  • Payment distribution/lien waiver collection.
  • Required basic understanding of 20 day pre lien notices, waiver collection
  • Performs all project filing and other routine administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience working as an accountant or a bookkeeper.
  • Experience in construction industry preferred.
  • Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor payments.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
Compensation:
  • This role offers a minimum $60k base salary with a significant range above depending on experience
