Project & Sales Support EngineerReports to: Operations Director Location: Guildford, UK (with occasional global travel) Role PurposeBandweaver Technology Ltd is seeking a motivated and commercially aware engineer with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience to join our UK operations team.This hybrid role bridges project engineering and internal sales support, providing exposure to technical system delivery, commercial bid support and customer interaction. The position is ideally suited to an engineer who has gained early-career experience in a technical, engineering or industrial environment and is now looking to broaden their skills across both engineering execution and commercial support.The role offers structured development and may evolve toward either a technical engineering pathway or a sales-focused pathway, depending on individual strengths and business needs. Key ResponsibilitiesSales Support, Account Management & Commercial ResponsibilitiesProvide technical review of customer specifications, enquiries and tender documentationSupport preparation of proposals, technical submissions, costings and bid documentationAssist with scope clarification and commercial risk identificationMaintain accurate and up-to-date records within Salesforce CRM, including:Opportunity trackingEnquiry loggingPipeline updatesOrder booking and forecast updatesSupport pipeline reporting and internal commercial trackingAccount & Customer Interface ResponsibilitiesManage smaller, lower-complexity or repeat customer accounts under the guidance of the Operations Director and Sales teamAct as primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely technical and commercial responsesSupport customer relationship development through regular communication and follow-upHandle incoming enquiries and coordinate internally to provide accurate and timely responsesAct as the direct customer interface during periods when members of the sales team are travelling or otherwise unavailableSupport customer meetings, presentations and technical demonstrationsIdentify potential upselling or cross-selling opportunities within managed accountsThis responsibility is intended to grow over time as the individual develops commercially and technically.Project Engineering & DeliveryParticipate in contract review and order bookingContribute to system design and engineering documentationSupport selection of instrumentation and third-party componentsAssist in system integration and FAT preparation/executionProduce technical documentation (manuals, diagrams, specifications)Provide structured after-sales technical supportProject CoordinationSupport project planning and trackingMaintain documentation and reporting toolsInterface with customers and internal teamsCoordinate with Shanghai R&D and product teams Person SpecificationExperienceEssential:Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a relevant engineering, technical support, system integration or industrial environmentExperience contributing to technical documentation or project deliveryExposure to customer interaction or cross-functional team workingDesirable:Experience supporting proposals, tenders or commercial teamsExperience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)Exposure to industrial control environments (PLC, SCADA, Modbus etc.)Experience with fibre optic technologies (advantageous but not required) QualificationsDegree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Telecoms, Automation or similar (HND/BTEC with relevant experience also considered) Behavioural AttributesOrganised and detail-orientedCommercially aware and interested in business impactConfident communicator (written and verbal)Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesProactive and willing to take ownershipComfortable in a small, growing and evolving organisation
