Project Attorney, LIFT Project
Join our dedicated team as a Project Attorney for the LIFT Project. In this critical role, you will provide advice, counsel, and representation to domestic violence survivors, focusing on legal matters that are essential for achieving financial stability. Your work will directly address issues such as landlord/tenant disputes, consumer law, family law, and public benefits.
This is a unique and impactful position that involves working on-site at the Women In Distress domestic violence shelter three days a week and at our main office in Broward County for the remaining two days. You will work closely with a paralegal to manage a large and diverse caseload, providing direct legal services to those in need.

- A demonstrable awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve.
- A strong commitment to being a passionate and aggressive advocate for our clients.
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and maintain professionalism in a highly stressful environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, including attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work constructively with a diverse group of colleagues and clients.
- Ability to speak more than one language is a significant plus.
Education & Experience
- Active membership in the Florida State Bar is required.
- Experience serving low-income individuals.
- Experience in landlord/tenant, consumer, family law, and/or public benefits law is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary for this exempt, full-time position is $71,500 and may be substantially higher depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
