Position Summary:The Project Engineer for NIS – Americas will assist in design and implement hardware and software solutions in coordination with principal engineers and other functions. He / She will use commercially viable hardware including PLCs, HMIs, PCs, embedded PCs, Client/Servers, Drives/VFDs, sensors, actuators etc. along with commercially viable software and development environments to design, program, simulate, and commission industrial control systems for a variety of applications in industries including Metals manufacturing, mining, material handling, pulp & paper, marine, and O&G.Essential Job FunctionsKnowledge of Power Systems to design drive controls.Expert in AC/DC Drive Control ArchitectureSystem design for automation of plants & machineryPLC, HMI, and other industrial-equipment programmingSchematic & Layout design for electrical & electronic Control Systems including VFDs/DC Drives using AUTOCAD Electrical and Mechanical, Knowledge of EPLAN will be plus.Simulation, testing, and documentationEstimation of Systems Project RFQ, Direct interface with Sales and Customers for RFQ.Commissioning of systems, 20% travel required. Education/License RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering, PE License will be plusExperience RequirementsMinimum 5-7 Years in Design & Implementation of Industrial Control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and Drives (VFDs and DC Drives);Minimum 7-Years of Programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems. Minimum 3 Years direct work experience with Schematics & Panel layoutsKnowledge of C#, VB, .NET, OPC, SQL will be plusPreferred: Knowledge of NEC / NFPA70 / UL 508 Standards.Preferred: Direct experience with implementation of systems with EtherNet/IP, EtherNet TCP/IP, DeviceNET, ProfiNET, Modbus TCP/IPRockwell, GE, Siemens, & Schneider PLC Platforms experience
