We have partnered with a heavy industrial mechanical contractor company in the Baltimore or Hagerstown, MD area to provide them with a Project Engineer. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Project Engineer:

#1. Must have at least 2yrs of Construction exp either as a Mechanical Contractor or Prime Contractor in an Industrial Environment.

#2. Must have a thorough understanding of Plans and Specifications.

#3. Must be comfortable working on projects alone and be comfortable working directly with Clients.

#4. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10 years.

Requirements of the Project Engineer:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of prior experience in construction, ideally within an industrial environment as a Mechanical or Prime Contractor.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction plans and technical specifications, including:
    • Layout drawings (plan and elevation views)
    • Process & Flow Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Piping Isometric Drawings
  • Experience with scheduling and estimating is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on projects as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:

  • Maintain daily communication with assigned jobsite foremen, either by phone or in person.
  • Provide daily updates to the Operations Manager, either by phone or in person.
  • Conduct weekly visits to each job site, or more frequently as required by project demands.
  • Document job progress through photographs (where permitted).
  • Track and record the progress of subcontractors when applicable.
  • Submit weekly salary timesheets to the Operations Manager for review and approval.
  • Process mileage and expense reimbursement requests as necessary.
  • Send delivery tickets, invoices, and other relevant paperwork to the Baltimore Office via FedEx.
  • Work 45-50 hours per week, with a weekly salary arrangement.

Other Key Requirements:

  • 100% in office role with travel
  • No Visa or Sponsorships. No Corp-to-Corp.
