Job Title: Project EngineerLocation: Culpeper, VASchedule: Full-Time (On-Site, 40 hours/week, no overtime)*This is a W2 Contract role.Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to support the day-to-day operations of a mission-critical construction project. This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring active field presence and coordination with project stakeholders. The Project Engineer will also serve as on-site coverage for the Construction Manager (CM) when needed, providing essential support in maintaining project continuity and oversight.This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical and/or mechanical trades, who is comfortable using project management technology and navigating complex construction environments.Key Responsibilities:Provide on-site support for construction activities, assisting the CM and stepping in to provide coverage when necessary.Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the work.Track progress, maintain project documentation, and support QA/QC efforts.Utilize web-based project management software, including Procore (or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and master it).Support change management, RFI processing, submittal reviews, and field inspections.Ensure that project activities are aligned with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.Participate in construction meetings, report progress, and help identify and resolve field issues in real time.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management or four (4) years of documented construction experience on relevant commercial, institutional, or public sector projects (may substitute for degree).A minimum of 4 years of post-graduate construction experience, with hands-on involvement in electrical and/or mechanical trades.Previous experience using web-based project management tools, with a strong preference for experience in Procore or the ability to learn it quickly.Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.Comfortable working full-time on an active construction site.Additional Notes:This is a 40-hour/week on-site position with no overtime.The Project Engineer must be available to provide coverage for the Construction Manager (CM) when needed.Electrical and mechanical trade experience is a key asset in this role.
