JOB DESCRIPTION:

Project Engineer (Injection Molding) - PSC8124 - Cleveland, WI

Pay: $60,000 - 90,000 base + Benefits

Industry: Custom Plastic Injection Molding

Location: based near the Cleveland, WI region

Schedule: Full-time / M-F

For the past 50+ years, this custom injection molding manufacturer has produced tight tolerance plastic injection molded products and assemblies for the defense/security, medical, industrial, and some niche automotive markets. We are currently assisting this company based near the Cleveland, WI, region to connect with an experienced Project engineer with a background in the injection molding manufacturing industry. The Project Engineer will direct, manage, and coordinate new plastic product development per new and existing customer requirements.

Responsibilities
- Plan and manage engineering projects based on customer needs.
- Develop and track project schedules and budgets, ensuring costs stay within limits.
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of project scopes, designs, and bids.
- Assign tasks to team members and oversee different project phases, including design, testing, and technical studies.
- Review product designs and provide guidance to customers, ensuring they meet standards and specifications.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments using tools like Moldflow or Moldex3D.
- Solve technical issues, manage project timelines, and direct technical activities.
- Approve design changes and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide updates on project progress to customers and management, adjusting schedules as needed.
- Prepare reports during and after project completion.
- Assist with manufacturing engineering on the production floor as required.
- Represent the company professionally with customers and vendors.
- Follow and promote safety policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and networking.
- Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Required to have at least 8-10 years of secondary and primary contract packaging experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Prior experience leading operations of medical device or consumer health product packaging or assembly is preferred.
- Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and employees of the organization.
- Must have a Bachelors degree; preferably in an engineering or similar field
- Must be proficient in Windows, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and MS Project. Familiarity with IQMS or similar manufacturing software is preferred. Knowledge of SolidWorks/CAD is a plus. Must be open to learn new software.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license or ID.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
