Job Description:
Client is seeking an experienced and innovative Engineer to join their Thin Films & Coatings Solutions team. The successful candidate will lead the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of thin film, plasma, and vacuum deposition equipment and processes. This role requires advanced engineering expertise, strong project leadership, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, installation, and optimization of vacuum deposition equipment and related systems (electrical, cooling water, gas, exhaust).
Develop and implement process improvements for thin film deposition, driving efficiency and quality enhancements.
Perform advanced operational testing, diagnostics, and root cause analysis for complex equipment and process issues.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians; provide technical leadership on upgrades and modifications to equipment and controls (including PLCs).
Author and review technical documentation, reports, and work instructions; ensure best practices are shared and adopted.
Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and procedures in all work environments; champion safety initiatives.
Lead cross-functional project teams, manage project timelines, and contribute to strategic problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, Physics, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience
5+ years of lab/industrial work experience, including cleanroom environments.
Demonstrated expertise in mechanical/electrical systems, fluid handling, and vacuum/gas facilitation.
Extensive experience with laboratory or industrial equipment, including PLCs, automation, and CAD software.
In-depth knowledge of plasma processes and electrical wiring.
Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively; experience leading teams and projects.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
Comfortable working in cleanroom attire when required.
