Position DescriptionThe Mass Timber Project Executive provides senior leadership and strategic oversight for mass timber construction programs and projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery from early design through fabrication, logistics, and field erection. This role integrates engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and site operations to manage the unique technical, schedule, and coordination demands associated with mass timber systems (CLT, GLT, NLT, and hybrid structures).ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end execution strategy for mass timber projects, directing procurement approaches, fabrication sequencing, erection methodologies, and complex site logistics.Drive design-assist and design-build integration by collaborating with architects, engineers, and consultants to optimize panel sizing, grid layouts, and connection detailing for manufacturability.Manage executive-level supply chain relationships, monitoring manufacturing capacity, material escalation, and the procurement of specialty hardware and Lam stock.Direct preconstruction efforts including estimating, risk identification, and the coordination of MEP trades to ensure fabrication constraints are integrated early in the project lifecycle.Oversee field operations and structural performance, implementing comprehensive moisture management, temporary weatherproofing, and safety plans for heavy-lift operations.Monitor financial and commercial health by maintaining oversight of project budgets, fabrication cost controls, and installation productivity performance.Mentor and develop project leadership teams, supporting workforce planning, performance management, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Implement rigorous quality control programs for both plant fabrication and field acceptance, ensuring compliance with fire protection, stability, and aesthetic requirements.Serve as a market leader and executive liaison for owners and developers, representing company expertise in mass timber innovation, sustainability, and business development.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, ideally supplemented by professional certifications such as PMP, DBIA, PE, CCM, or LEED.12–20+ years of construction experience with a proven track record in structural systems delivery and managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical environments.Specialized expertise in mass timber (CLT/GLT) or heavy structural prefabrication, including a deep understanding of fabrication-driven project delivery and manufacturing workflows.Technical proficiency in fabrication modeling, connection hardware systems, and advanced installation methods.Comprehensive knowledge of moisture protection best practices, timber durability, and structural performance considerations.Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $135,000 – $155,000. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Our group benefits package, which has no waiting period, includes extended health and dental benefits, in addition to a Health Care Spending Account and a fitness allowance.RRSP – We provide a competitive RRSP contribution plan, with base contributions made by Mercer which can be supplemented with personal contributions matched by the company up to a certain %
