About the jobFor one of our clients within the Defence & Security domain, we are looking for a Project Lead to lead complex technical experiments in a highly specialised research environment.In this role, you will manage multiple projects focused on ballistic testing, protection systems, and advanced materials, contributing to the development of solutions that enhance the safety of personnel and critical infrastructure.You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and international partners, ensuring that experiments are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with strict technical and quality standards. Your work will directly contribute to innovative protection solutions used in demanding, real-world environments.Main responsibilitiesLead and manage multiple technical projects simultaneously (from feasibility studies to prototypes and testing phases)Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetCoordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams, including researchers and technical specialistsOversee and plan complex experimental activities and test campaignsSafeguard the quality, usability, and applicability of resultsAct as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholdersTranslate experimental outcomes into practical and implementable solutionsContribute to the continuous development of technical knowledge and innovation within the teamSupport collaboration with national and international partnersRequirementsExperience & expertiseHBO (Bachelor) level in a technical field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar)Minimum 4 years of experience in project management within a technical or operational environmentExperience working in innovation-driven or engineering environmentsAffinity with Defence, safety systems, or complex technical domainsExperience with testing environments, prototypes, or engineering projects is a strong plusPersonal profileStructured, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong organisational and coordination skillsComfortable working in dynamic and high-pressure environmentsAble to communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholdersA true team player with a strong sense of ownershipLanguage & locationFluent in Dutch and English (both required)German is a plusWilling to work primarily on-site in The Hague and Delft areaWhat we offerA role with direct impact on safety and defence-related innovationsThe opportunity to work in a unique, highly specialised testing environmentCollaboration with experts, researchers, and international partnersA dynamic role combining project management and technical innovationPlease note that if you do not hear back from us within 10 days of your application, you may assume that we have selected another candidate we would like to interview for this position.
