Project Leader - IS Life Location: Brussels (2 days/week onsite, 3 days/week remote) Start Date: ASAP Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Sciences, or equivalent Languages : Dutch and French fluent + good English About the RoleWe’re looking for a Project Leader to join our Life Information Systems division, which manages the development and evolution of applications supporting Life insurance products such as underwriting and claims management systems.The technology stack includes Microfocus mainframe emulators (Windows), COBOL / Mix COBOL + .NET, and various .NET frontend, CRM, printing, and integration technologies.As our project portfolio continues to grow, we’re strengthening our project leadership capabilities to ensure successful delivery and cross-team alignment.We’re seeking an open-minded, solution-oriented leader who can manage complex projects with firm timelines, foster collaboration across diverse teams, and drive results. Your MissionAs a Project Leader, you will:Establish project governance – define stakeholders, set up communication plans, and lead steering committees.Manage and challenge business requirements – ensure the right balance of value, cost, and timing while avoiding over-engineering.Coordinate with architects – clarify deliverables and ensure architectural milestones are achieved.Develop project budgets and roadmaps – consolidate estimates, create forecasts, and plan all project phases.Monitor and report progress – provide structured updates on timing, scope, quality, and budget to internal stakeholders.Identify and mitigate risks – anticipate potential issues and implement effective action plans.Engage and motivate teams – foster collaboration, encourage initiative, and support skill development across teams.
