Project Management Associate – PermittingOverview

Our client is a leading energy company seeking a motivated Project Management Associate to join their team in Juno Beach, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals (0-5 years experience) to gain valuable experience in project coordination within the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities.

Contract Details: 12-month contract | On-site position

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage permit applications for BESS construction projects across multiple jurisdictions
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Track permit status and ensure timely submission of all required documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, and project management
  • Interpret and apply local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Prepare and review permit applications and supporting documentation
  • Identify potential permitting issues early and develop proactive mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all permit-related activities
  • Attend pre-application meetings with regulatory agencies as needed
Requirements
  • 0-5 years of experience in project management, permitting, or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
  • Experience with regulatory processes and permit coordination preferred
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, or environmental requirements a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
