As a Senior Project Manager at our heavy civil construction firm, you'll play a critical role in overseeing complex municipal projects, including paving and sidewalk construction, for the City of Houston. Your position will involve both strategic planning and hands-on management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. You'll drive project performance, develop and implement actionable plans, and lead efforts to achieve operational goals. Successful collaboration with key stakeholders and meticulous management of all project elements will be essential.Key Responsibilities:Project Oversight: Direct and manage municipal construction projects, including paving and sidewalks, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.Strategic Contributions: Offer strategic insights and recommendations to support planning and reviews specific to City of Houston projects.Action Plan Development: Design and implement comprehensive action plans for project execution and improvements.Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address project issues, implementing solutions to mitigate risks associated with municipal projects.Task Delegation: Effectively allocate tasks to team members, including Project Coordinators, General Superintendents, Superintendents, Field Staff, Payroll, and Contract Administration.Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate project progress, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term objectives.Project Planning: Develop and communicate detailed project plans to clients, municipal stakeholders, and internal teams.Team Collaboration: Work closely with the General Superintendent to synchronize project activities and resolve any challenges.Financial Oversight: Review and approve field timesheets and invoices on a weekly basis.Change Management: Create and manage change orders as needed, particularly for municipal, paving and sidewalk projects.Leadership Development: Enhance leadership capabilities to support effective project management and team performance.Skills and Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale heavy civil construction projects, including municipal, paving and sidewalk construction.Strong leadership and team management skills.Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.Proven track record of task delegation and performance monitoring.Expertise in developing detailed project plans and managing financial documentation.Familiarity with Viewpoint (Required), B2W, and HCSS software is highly desirable.This role is vital for the successful execution of our municipal projects and will contribute significantly to the growth of our heavy civil construction division.
