DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Project Manager 2 handles administrative, management, and professional work for directing the implementation and management of high-priority, high-profile Commonwealth enterprise-wide information technology projects. This position is responsible for managing Office of Administration-Office of Information Technology (OA/OIT) sponsored projects of strategic importance. Such projects require coordination with multiple organizations involving stakeholders from OA/OIT, Enterprise Technology Services Office (ETSO), a variety of state agencies, and the business partner and vendor community. The incumbent will interface regularly with the other commonwealth positions such as, but not limited to, Chief Technology Officers (CTO), Chief Information Officers (CIO), IT managers, project and portfolio managers, IT Governance, and affiliated sub-committees as required. This position may report status and recommendations to the CTOs, ETSO Executive Team, and other senior leadership.

You will also have the opportunity to travel as needed, identify areas for improvement to develop and implement improvement plans, and provide guidance and mentoring for less experienced ETSO staff. Make your career aspirations a reality and experience the power of collaboration with us!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • Travel is required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Business Analyst 4; or
  • Two years of experience as a Project Manager 1; or
  • Four years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects and a bachelors degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes four years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Legal Requirements:
  • The selected candidate for this position must undergo a fingerprint-based records check to be in compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS).
