This position assists with the development of Departmental policies, budgets and long-range plans. Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned: Maintain healthy relationships with architects, designers, consultants and any other internal or external customers or providers of service to Deaconess Health System. Complies with Standards of Employee Conduct. Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. Assist in preparing and filing reports with government and regulatory authorities. Manages assigned projects requiring advanced project management expertise. Responsible to take projects from planning through completion including new construction, building renovations, major equipment installations, upgrading or modification of the facility’s systems, building or components including coordination of shutdown of utilities. Ensure all standards are met with outside agencies, such as insurance firms, ADA, EPA, OSHA, IDEM, ISDH, NFPA. Responsible for following policy and procedures for new construction, renovation and improvement projects. Follow Owner Architect and Owner Contractor contract requirements. Assist with developing clear and concise estimates for construction requests, including accurate work scope descriptions and estimates of cost including recommendations for alternate means of problem solutions for presentations to the Health System Capital Team and Board of directors. Assist with overseeing the development of project design to meet stated objectives; insures the design process is conducted efficiently and with an acceptable timeframe. Assist with communication between parties including architects, engineers, designers, consultants, physicians and numerous Deaconess Health System Administrators, Directors and Managers to see that all areas are represented in the design process. Reviews plans, specifications, drawings, etc. to be used for equipment/system modifications, installations, renovations and new construction projects with end users. Responsible to make decisions in a timely manner and monitor project cost to insure they are within the approved budget. Monitor all project expenses for large equipment, construction, design, change orders, project scope changes, incurred by project to ensure the project remains within budget. Financial management – Review, approve, assign project code and process for payment Applications and Certificate for Payment request from Contractors and invoices for complete work and issue PO's. Performs all duties with dedication to the highest level of customer service for the end user. Acts as the owner’s representative for Deaconess Health System and is the contact person for the Health System with architects, engineers, and contractors related to construction activities. At Closeout see that proper documentation is received and passed to the Facilities.
