Role and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will manage multiple projects from start to finish, including scope and scheduling, ensuring the shops have access to material and equipment needed to complete projects on time. The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Contributing to and supporting the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
  • Professionally represent Swanton Welding & Machining Company with existing and prospective customers and vendors.
  • Oversees and manages projects by prioritizing work, answering questions, managing deadlines, and coordinating with different teams to resolve issues proactively, as well as during the build both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for customer and vendor communication, budgeting, scheduling, contract and project administration.
  • Creates and reviews shop drawings for job/projects using Software for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with customers, engineers, or other internal or external assistance.
  • Internally sets up a job/project.
  • Work with members of the team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Creates working documents package, including the job traveler with work instructions.
  • Assist with conducting cost analysis and estimates expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and builds material lists for each project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required skills/abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong acumen for project management and execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates problem-solving project management experience and skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Must be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn the project or product being developed.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED, Training from an accredited technical school or drafting program highly preferred.
  • 2 years related field experience.

Physical requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lifting, carrying up to 15 pounds (Occasionally)
