Job Summary: The Project Manager, HR is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing HR-related projects within the organization. This role involves managing multiple projects that impact the HR function, including systems implementation, process improvements, change management initiatives, and employee engagement programs. The Project Manager, HR works closely with HR leaders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while aligning with the organization's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:

    • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with HR leaders and stakeholders.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
    • Lead project teams to execute projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and that project goals are met.
  2. Stakeholder Management:

    • Collaborate with HR leadership, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
    • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly, providing clear and actionable updates.
    • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to gather input, resolve conflicts, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  3. HR Systems Implementation:

    • Manage the implementation of HR systems, including HRIS, payroll systems, performance management tools, and other HR technologies.
    • Coordinate with IT, HR, and vendor teams to ensure successful system deployment, integration, and user adoption.
    • Oversee the development of training materials and provide training to HR staff and end-users as needed.
  4. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the HR function, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
    • Lead process redesign initiatives, including workflow analysis, process mapping, and documentation.
    • Implement new processes and monitor their effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  5. Change Management:

    • Develop and execute change management plans to support the successful implementation of HR projects and initiatives.
    • Engage with employees and managers to ensure understanding and acceptance of changes, providing support and resources as needed.
    • Monitor the impact of changes on the organization and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  6. Budget and Resource Management:

    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within financial constraints.
    • Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, technology, and materials, to ensure project success.
    • Track project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to HR leadership.
  7. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project success, including timeline delays, resource constraints, and scope changes.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including contingency planning and proactive communication with stakeholders.
    • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle, making adjustments as needed to keep projects on track.
  8. Performance Measurement and Reporting:

    • Establish project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
    • Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations to HR leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and identify opportunities for future improvement.
  9. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and mentor project team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture that aligns with the organization's values and goals.
    • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the HR project management community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR project management or a related role, with a proven track record of managing complex HR projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, processes, and systems.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
