Project Manager Infra Apply
Project Summary: The project involves a complete upgrade to 400G network infrastructure, with multiple teams, vendors, and phases, operating in a highly sensitive environment that requires minimizing disruption to critical airport operations. It requires a technology project manager to develop and maintain the overall project schedule, establish a baseline, identify the critical path, and coordinate closely with the project management team, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
Minimum Requirement
Candidate must have five (5) years of proven technology project management experience in successfully leading complex technology projects, managing technology vendors and corporate stakeholder
- Candidate must provide Project Experience Documentation as specified below.
- Documentation of experience of projects of similar size, scope and complexity, such as network upgrades, large-scale infrastructure, or technology implementations.
- Example Documentation: Case studies or project summaries with client names, project duration, size and outcome
- Candidate must be able to work on-site at the San Francisco International Airport three (3) days of the week.
- Business Requirements and Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Project Management Experience: Proven ability to manage schedules for large-scale, multi-phase infrastructure projects, especially in telecom, involving multiple vendors and stakeholder coordination.
- Critical Infrastructure Expertise: Prior experience with strict operational constraints in airports, hospitals, or similar environments.
- Scheduling Tools Proficiency: Skilled in MS Project (preferred) and Primavera P6 for timelines, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying scheduling risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Communication: Strong ability to coordinate with teams and report project status to key stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Flexible with changes in scope and requirements, able to meet critical operational constraints.
- Airport Compliance: Knowledgeable of airport safety protocols, security clearance, and badging for restricted areas.
- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development: Work with the project manager and stakeholders to build a comprehensive project schedule covering all activities, milestones, dependencies, and resources.
- Baseline and Critical Path Establishment: Set up the project baseline and critical path, ensuring team members understand all key deadlines and dependencies. Update as needed to reflect changes.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project activities against the schedule, ensuring teams adhere to timelines. Adjust schedules to minimize operational disruptions.
- Schedule Updates and Change Management: Maintain an up-to-date schedule, adjusting for scope changes, vendor delays, or resource shifts. Apply change management protocols to integrate schedule modifications.
- Regular Status Reporting: Provide ongoing updates and detailed status reports to the project manager and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential scheduling risks, collaborate with teams to develop mitigation strategies, and promptly communicate any delays or changes to the overall plan.
- Team and Vendor Coordination: Facilitate collaboration with technical teams and vendors, ensuring their activities align with the main project timeline for smooth execution.
- Documentation of Critical Path: Create a detailed critical path report identifying dependencies, earliest/latest start dates, and zero-float tasks crucial for maintaining the project timeline.
- Alignment Reports: Deliver regular reports documenting the synchronization of vendor and team schedules with the project timeline.
- Project Closeout and Handover: Finalize the schedule to reflect completed work, document lessons learned and prepare a handover plan for ongoing maintenance or future enhancements.
