Job Description

Our client is a growing, privately held chemical manufacturing organization. They are looking to add a Project Manager to support capital projects across a multi-site operation. This individual will play a critical role in delivering CAPEX projects from concept through execution, while partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support capital projects through all phases: FEL, detailed engineering, construction, startup, and closure
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines; manage execution to meet cost and schedule targets
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support construction activities on-site, including stepping into a construction management capacity when needed
  • Drive EHS compliance and risk mitigation across all project phases
  • Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and reliability teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3-10 years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing or supporting capital projects (full lifecycle experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of plant unit operations and process systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, equipment layouts, etc.)


Nice to Have

  • Construction management experience
  • Familiarity with SAP or project management tools
  • Experience with DCS systems (e.g., DeltaV)


Schedule & Additional Info

  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Extended hours (12-hour days) during shutdowns/critical project phases
  • Limited travel (~10%)
