POSITION TITLEProject ManagerPOSITION LOCATIONLynchburg, VARichmond, VAYOUR ROLEAs a member of the Project Management Office, you’ll play a crucial role in managing initiatives that support our ability to deliver world class customer service and capabilities to our policyholders—now and in the future. The projects supported by this role will span across multiple business functions and technology platforms calling on breadth of technical and project management skillsets.What you will be doingLead cross functional project teams through complex, high impact projectsManage multiple projects using widely accepted project methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile/LEAN, SDLC or similar)Lead team efforts to develop new or revised processes/procedures across multiple operational and business areasMotivate and direct team members to build cooperative project teams to conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues and develop formal recommendations for presentation to managementWork independently and with mid-level and senior management on complex projects and supervise project sub-teamsApply project management tools and methods to manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, communication, resources and suppliersDevelop, integrate, and execute plans for large cross-functional projects requiring multiple work-streams and sub-plansConduct cost-benefit analysis for projects. Validate cost and benefit assumptions with stakeholders, resource managers and process owners.Conduct written and oral project updates for senior management and business leadersWhat you bringBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of project management experienceDemonstrated ability to develop strategic relationships and lead customer focused projects across organizational boundariesExcellent planning, organizational and execution skillsStrong communication (oral, written, interpersonal and presentation) skillsDemonstrated experience interacting & collaborating with business areas in gathering, documenting and developing business scope for projectsResults oriented, ability to meet and exceed objectives and handle multiple deadlines and prioritiesStrong analytical and business problem solving skillsProficient in various MS Personal Computing Programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Demonstrated ability to build rapport with business partners/stakeholder Employee Benefits & Well-BeingGenworth employees make a difference in people’s lives every day.
