Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Master to lead the successful delivery of large and complex programs and projects across all phases of the Project Management Lifecycle. This includes initiation, planning, iterative development, continuous testing, execution, control, and closeout.
The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical point of contact for the customer, ensuring alignment across infrastructure, application, QA, change management, and customer service teams. The Project Manager will also be responsible for fostering collaboration between business and technical stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
Only local candidates from the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple complex programs and projects from initiation through completion.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, executive sponsors, vendors, and project teams to ensure consistent communication and alignment.
- Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership for software and hardware system implementations, business process improvements, and IT applications.
- Develop and manage project plans, resource allocations, sprint schedules, and backlog tracking using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Create and execute detailed communication and change management plans to ensure transparency and stakeholder engagement.
- Align project objectives with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Lead teams through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Develop program metrics, dashboards, and analytics to track delivery progress and performance.
- Identify project and resource dependencies, proactively mitigating risks and resolving issues.
- Deliver regular project updates, including executive steering committee reports, risks, decisions, and performance summaries.
- Motivate, coach, and guide project teams to achieve high performance and deliver quality outcomes.
- Ensure effective collaboration across cross-functional areas such as infrastructure (SaaS, PaaS, or on-premise), applications, QA, and support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- PMP or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification required.
- Additional Agile or Scrum Master certification strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience managing and implementing multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity.
- Proven success leading at least four multi-year project implementations.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Demonstrated success as a team leader, with the ability to motivate and coach teams while fostering trust and innovation.
- Strong experience in stakeholder management, executive communication, and project governance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Candidates must be local to the DMV area and able to report onsite Monday through Wednesday.
- This position is hybrid and may occasionally require additional onsite presence based on project needs.
