Project Manager Apply
Role: Project Manager
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA - hybrid 1 day a week on-site and 4 days remote
Duration: 1 year contract (possible extension)
Job Description:
1. Project Planning and Roadmap Coordination
- Develop project plans and timelines for implementing and enhancing tax technology solutions, ensuring alignment with key compliance dates and business requirements.
- Coordinate project phases, milestones, and deliverables, setting realistic timelines that account for regulatory deadlines and internal resource availability.
2. Stakeholder Communication and Management
- Serve as the main point of contact between tax professionals, finance teams, IT, and external vendors, ensuring that all parties understand the project scope, status, and next steps.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, timelines, and any changes in scope, budget, or requirements.
3. Vendor and Resource Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and third-party vendors to manage the integration, configuration, and deployment of tax technology solutions, such as ONESOURCE, Edicom, Aptos, Oracle or Garpac.
- Ensure internal and external resources are effectively scheduled and tasked, adjusting resource allocation as project demands shift.
4. Requirements Documentation and Tracking
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with tax and finance teams, ensuring the documentation of business requirements and tracking them through to completion.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including requirements, workflows, and compliance criteria, ensuring traceability and accountability across teams.
5. User Training and Onboarding Support
- Coordinate with training teams to develop and deliver training sessions for tax staff on new or updated systems, ensuring they understand new workflows and functionality.
- Organize onboarding materials and user guides to ensure smooth adoption of new tools and processes by end-users.
6. Data Integration and Compliance Support
- Coordinate the integration of data sources for tax purposes, coordinating with IT to ensure data quality and accessibility for accurate reporting.
- Track and facilitate compliance activities within the project, coordinating updates with finance, tax, legal and compliance teams to maintain adherence to changing tax regulations.
7. Regulatory Compliance Monitoring
- Maintain a calendar of key regulatory deadlines and changes, updating the project timeline and task lists to reflect any new compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with the compliance team to ensure project tasks are aligned with regulatory changes, prioritizing updates as required.
8. Project Monitoring, Reporting, and Risk Management
- Track project progress using metrics like on-time task completion and budget adherence, identifying and addressing any deviations from the plan.
- Identify potential risks (such as delays in regulatory updates or resource constraints) and develop mitigation plans, escalating issues when necessary to avoid project disruptions.
