Job Description
Project Manager – Data Center Construction
MXI Partners is recruiting a Project Manager to join a specialist Data Center General Contractor delivering hyperscale and mission-critical facilities in the Northern Virginia market. This is a full project lifecycle role — from RFP and pre-construction through commissioning and client handover.
What's on offer:
- Base salary up to $170k + bonus + benefits
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) plan with employer-paid life and disability insurance
- Paid time off + employee referral and assistance programmes
- Work on some of the most significant data centre projects in the US
The role
You'll lead all facets of data center construction delivery across CSA and MEP scopes, owning everything from day-to-day field operations and design coordination to financial reporting, change order management, and client engagement. You'll supervise superintendents, project coordinators, and assistant PMs, and work closely with internal stakeholders, design-build contractors, and customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing design phases, construction documents, and RFI/submittal processes
- Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules including procurement milestones
- Leading monthly financial reporting — forecasting, cash flow, WIP, and contractor billing
- Coordinating and supervising design-build contractors and internal subject matter experts
- Overseeing the change order process with owners and subcontractors
- Driving constructability reviews and proactive schedule risk management
- Supporting commissioning and leading close-out and handover of physical assets and documentation
- Enforcing OSHA safety standards on site (OSHA 30 preferred)
What we're looking for:
- 3–5 years of construction project management experience
- Strong background in CSA and MEP construction management — this is a requirement
- Data center or mission-critical experience preferred
- Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office suite
- Confident managing multimillion-dollar budgets and complex subcontractor relationships
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to travel 30–50%
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced construction PM ready to step into a high-impact role at the center of one of the fastest-growing infrastructure sectors globally.
