- Candidates with previous government or federal experience are highly preferred, but this is not mandatory.
- Local candidates from the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area are preferred.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who has managed web projects and mobile application development. This project focuses on the onboarding of staff to support the implementation of the SmarTripMobile App 2.0, which includes application integration, deployment, development, configuration, testing, and the deployment of code to production environments. The Project Manager will oversee day-to-day responsibilities for managing in-scope web applications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project team activities with other teams and senior management.
- Communicate with sponsoring organizations to assist in needs assessment and functional specifications.
- Draft specifications and develop work plan definitions.
- Manage tasks, overall deliverables, and status tracking.
- Apply best practices and agile project management methodologies relevant to the project scope.
- Develop and manage the project schedule using MS Project.
- Provide status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
- Prepare project reports for management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Confer with project team members to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
- Hold regular project meetings with stakeholders to monitor progress and communicate actions required.
- Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct and evaluate post-mortems to improve future projects.
- Manage project issues, revise plans as necessary, and communicate changes to project team members.
- Maintain close contact with project sponsors to ensure a shared vision, stakeholder buy-in, and project support.
- Successfully complete mandatory security awareness training on an annual basis.
- Review and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation of components and dependencies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading web projects focused on modernization.
- 2+ years of experience leading mobile application development projects.
- 5+ years of experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in web and mobile projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
