Vertiv is hiring a Project Manager for key data center accounts. This highly visible and critical role is responsible for managing multiple data center customer projects and liaising with the project management team to drive communication and coordination between external partners (customers, general contractors, site personnel, suppliers) and internal departments (Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Field Services, and Finance) to deliver exceptional customer service and on-time delivery from order acknowledgement to equipment startup.
Job Description The Project Manager will execute projects including cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction. They will lead the project management team to complete tasks, take ownership of Vertiv scope delivery, and serve as the primary Vertiv project contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to define and develop methods, procedures, and institute best practices, ensuring enforcement on projects.
Define the required project scope of work and tasks, collaborate with functional group leaders to develop project execution plans, and coordinate with Order Management, plant production, logistics, contractors, services, and warranty groups throughout the project, acting as the primary point of escalation for potential conflicts.
Follow reporting and tracking processes to keep the project on target for quality, schedule, and cost; track project reporting and KPI; document meeting notes, action items, and follow through to completion.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans, ensuring timely resolution and communication to stakeholders.
Monitor team schedules and coordinate activities on the critical path, implementing short-term and long-term resolution.
Build, develop, and maintain business relationships with key stakeholders (contractors, customers, suppliers).
Requirements Prior project management experience required; construction project management is a plus.
Prior power distribution equipment experience preferred.
Effective communication skills, including conducting meetings and presentations.
Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
Knowledge of construction, electrical, and mechanical contracting is a plus.
Critical infrastructure and data center expertise with UPS, thermal, battery, and monitoring is a plus.
Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure, and commissioning processes is a plus.
3-5 Years experience.
10% travel required.
Education and Certifications Associate or Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
