Job Description

A growing design-build firm specializing in retail, hospitality, and branded environments is seeking a Production Services Project Manager to lead projects from design handoff through fabrication and installation. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, internal production teams, fabrication partners, and installation crews. The ideal candidate brings strong technical project management experience, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to delivering complex, high-quality environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Lead, managing projects from design transition through fabrication and final installation
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, designers, fabricators, and installation teams
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost estimates across labor, materials, and subcontracted services
  • Provide value engineering solutions while maintaining design intent and quality standards
  • Manage project workflows, team assignments, procurement, and production schedules
  • Monitor progress across technical design, shop drawings, fabrication, and field installation
  • Identify project risks and proactively resolve technical, scheduling, and budget challenges
  • Coordinate installation logistics, including manpower planning, travel, tools, equipment, and accommodations
  • Review RFIs, submittals, and technical inquiries from clients and field teams
  • Conduct site visits and oversee installation quality and punch list completion
  • Track job status, documentation, and production deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support project closeout, budget reconciliation, and post-project debriefs

Business Development & Client Support

  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional scope on active projects
  • Support internal leadership by flagging potential new business opportunities
  • Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and coordination calls

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within design-build, fabrication, or construction environments
  • Strong background in retail, hospitality, or commercial interior projects
  • Experience managing projects from design through fabrication and field installation
  • Solid understanding of materials, production workflows, and construction sequencing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Strong financial acumen across budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with shop drawing coordination, fabrication processes, and custom installations
  • Experience working with external vendors, installers, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with project management and documentation platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, etc.)
  • Understanding of sustainable materials and green building practices
