Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) experience to manage public infrastructure and utility projects throughout New York State. This role requires hands-on oversight of DEP-regulated work, coordination with state and local agencies, and full lifecycle project management from pre-construction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage DEP-related construction projects including water, wastewater, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
- Act as the primary liaison with DEP and other state or local agencies
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, testing, and regulatory approvals
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and pay applications
- Lead project meetings with engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and project specifications
- Identify risks, resolve issues proactively, and keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Manage project closeout, including documentation, as-builts, testing reports, and final approvals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in construction or infrastructure projects
- DEP experience required (water, sewer, wastewater, or environmental projects)
- Strong understanding of New York State environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
- Public works or municipal infrastructure projects
- Civil, environmental, or construction engineering background
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working with union labor and prevailing wage projects
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
