Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) experience to manage public infrastructure and utility projects throughout New York State. This role requires hands-on oversight of DEP-regulated work, coordination with state and local agencies, and full lifecycle project management from pre-construction through closeout.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage DEP-related construction projects including water, wastewater, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
  • Act as the primary liaison with DEP and other state or local agencies
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, testing, and regulatory approvals
  • Review and manage contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and pay applications
  • Lead project meetings with engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and project specifications
  • Identify risks, resolve issues proactively, and keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Manage project closeout, including documentation, as-builts, testing reports, and final approvals


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in construction or infrastructure projects
  • DEP experience required (water, sewer, wastewater, or environmental projects)
  • Strong understanding of New York State environmental regulations and permitting processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills


Preferred Experience

  • Public works or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Civil, environmental, or construction engineering background
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience working with union labor and prevailing wage projects



Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
