We are looking for a Property Administrator to join our team in Watsonville, California. This is a long-term contract position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management of affordable housing properties. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining compliance, and assisting with tenant-related processes.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with rent collection and collaborate with the accounting department to manage financial data effectively.
• Prepare and complete tenant recertifications while issuing notices for non-compliance as required.
• Prioritize service requests for both residential and commercial units to ensure timely resolution.
• Process invoices accurately and oversee the turnover of units to maintain occupancy rates.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and assist in sourcing vendors to address property needs.
• Support affordable housing programs by ensuring compliance with tax credit requirements.
• Utilize property management software, including Yardi, to streamline operations.
• Maintain organized documentation and records related to tenants and property management.
• Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and team members to foster positive relationships.
• Ensure adherence to housing regulations and city program guidelines.• Minimum of one year of experience in property management within affordable housing or permanent supportive housing.
• Familiarity with tax credit programs and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in property management software, with Yardi experience strongly preferred.
• Competence in using Microsoft Word and other office software.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as scanners, fax machines, and printers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with tenants and vendors.
• Knowledge of HUD regulations and affordable housing standards.
