Job Summary:
We are seeking a Provider Administration Specialist to maintain accurate and up-to-date provider information, process updates, and resolve data inquiries. This role supports compliance, quality assurance, and efficient provider data management within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update provider data including business name, tax ID, contract changes, ownership transfers, license renewals, and specialty updates.
- Ensure accuracy of provider records through regular quality checks and data verification.
- Research and resolve inquiries from providers and internal teams within established timelines.
- Process returned mail, verify provider addresses, and follow up on outstanding information.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain missing documentation and clarify discrepancies.
- Support audits and compliance reviews by maintaining accurate and current records.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of related experience in healthcare, managed care, or medical/dental insurance (required)
- High school diploma or GED required (must be verified; no exceptions)
- Ability to type 40 WPM
- Experience engaging with customers/patients via phone and email
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of dental industry terminology, claims processing, and managed care operations preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Adheres to HIPAA and data privacy standards
