Residential & Crisis Programs – Adults About BrightPath BrightPath is a Minnesota DHS-licensed (245D) provider delivering high-acuity residential and crisis services for adults with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring conditions. Our programs are structured, clinically informed, and designed for staff who want real behavioral health experience without the burnout of inpatient units . Role Overview This role is equivalent in function and acuity to a Psychiatric Technician or Mental Health Technician in a hospital or residential treatment setting. Psychiatric Technicians at BrightPath provide direct behavioral health support , crisis intervention, and clinical documentation for individuals with complex behavioral and mental health needs in 24/7 staffed residential programs . This position aligns with BrightPath’s Behavioral Technician role and is ideal for candidates with experience in: Inpatient psychiatry Residential treatment Crisis stabilization ABA-informed or behavior support settings Key Responsibilities Provide direct behavioral health support in accordance with individualized service plans and crisis plans Observe, assess, and respond to behavioral escalation , utilizing de-escalation and positive support strategies Participate in crisis response , including emergency safety interventions when required and trained Accurately complete clinical documentation , including daily progress notes, behavior tracking, and incident reports Support individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) as clinically indicated Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary partners to support safety, consistency, and treatment goals Maintain compliance with Minnesota DHS 245D standards , mandated reporting requirements, and agency policies Qualifications Required (one of the following): Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Social Work, or related field OR 4+ years of experience in a psychiatric, residential, crisis, or behavioral health setting Preferred: Experience as a Psychiatric Technician, Mental Health Technician, Behavior Technician, or ABA Therapist Experience supporting individuals with SPMI, IDD, or high-acuity behavioral needs Familiarity with de-escalation, trauma-informed care, or positive behavior supports What Sets This Role Apart Hospital-comparable acuity in a smaller, more controlled environment Defined staffing ratios and on-site leadership support Strong emphasis on training, documentation quality, and safety Opportunity to apply behavioral health skills across mental health and disability services Clear expectations—no “bait-and-switch” on role scope or responsibilities Schedule & Physical Requirements Programs operate 24/7; flexible scheduling available Standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs as required by individual support needs Ability to respond calmly and professionally during behavioral crises Competitive hourly pay based on experience and education Shift differentials where applicable Paid training and required certifications Opportunities for advancement into Lead, Coordinator, or clinical-support roles Apply Today Join a team committed to empowering individuals to live with dignity, independence, and joy.
